Statistics In 2006/2007 with 850 members and nearly 100 beginners per year the following statistics from Paul Chek Insitutes have been proven accurate in Vejen Golf Klub.
The most common injury in golf is the lower back. Male 53%, Female 45%. Second is the elbows. Male 24%, Female 27%.
63% of beginners suffer back pain.
30% of Professional golfers are playing injured at one time.
Nearly 60% of those injured during golf are still troubled 1 year later.
Golfers playing another sport are 40% more likely to develop back pain.
Golfers acheive 90% of their peak muscle activity / maximum force, when hitting a ball. This is the same as loading a bar in the gym with your maximum weight and lifting it 4 times above your head.
Pains during and after golf can be caused by :
- Poor Fundementals
- Poor awareness and warm ups.
- Poor Club Fitting.
- Poor training programmes and volumes
- Other activities before or after playing golf.
If you are currently experiencing golf related injuries please contact us. We can identify the problem and find a solution using local practitioners. I am proud to report that our recovery rate was excellent in 2006/2007and was equally successful in 2008/2009. This means alot to the individual that he/she can once again enjoy quality leisure time without pain or risk to further injury.
We are also developing and always updating fitness concepts based on The Titliest Performance Institute, SAQ and Chek Institutes.
